Community Service - Smith Village

This October, the dining service department at Smith Village hosted a Pink for October Breast Cancer walk with all residents and staff. Participants that donated to the breast cancer foundation received a pink support bracelet, and were allowed to wear Pink to work on Friday, October 8th. Poker Walks were held in the morning and afternoon on October 8th, where residents and staff were encouraged to walk around the block in memory and in honor of individuals fighting breast cancer. The walk featured a breast cancer table, where participants could pick up additional information on breast cancer prevention and support tips, as well as a memory board, where individuals could sign the names of their loved ones fighting or surviving breast cancer. Overall, $485.00 was raised and donated to support the breast cancer foundation.
