I believe a common mistake that a lot of us managers make when we are trying to solve operational challenges is that we miss the forest for the trees by forgetting to look to our people -- I'm not talking about looking at how much more we can get from our people or how to more effectively manage our people. Instead, I think we need to look a lot more closely at what it's like for our people to come to work in our operations everyday.
