with us for Bourbon Balls.
These can be served as a truffle-like dessert or as a pre-portioned spoon as pictured above. Gary has the Bourbon Ball paired with hot chocolate as a plated dessert sampler.
Gary’s Holiday Bourbon Balls
By: Gary McCurdy1 ¼ cup finely chopped nuts (pecans)
6 tablespoons bourbon (Woodford or Makers Mark)
(plus at least 2 tablespoons of bourbon for you to enjoy)
½ cup butter, softened
1 (16 oz) package confectioners’ sugar
18 oz semisweet chocolate
24-28 pecan halves for garnish
Place chopped nuts in sealable container; pour the bourbon over the nuts. Seal and let soak overnight.
Mix butter and sugar; fold in soaked nuts and form into quarter sized balls and refrigerate.
Melt chocolate, coat chilled balls completely with chocolate and garnish with pecan half.
Store on wax paper in refrigerator until you serve. (feel free to sample another 2 tablespoons of bourbon)
