Chef Sue and Chef Monica at Smith Crossing are all about involving the residents. So much so, they invited them into their kitchen to bake with them! Residents were asked to sign up for this event to share a morning with the chefs baking. 10 residents signed up and did they have a blast.
The group was divided into three groups, each group sharing in two recipes and the other making dinner bread for that evening (which was highlighted on that evening's dinner menu.) The groups made desserts and pastries consisting of Oreo White Chocolate Fudge, Pumpkin Bread, Monkey Bread, and Cherry Cheesecake Cupcakes. The bread was cloverleaf parmesan garlic that the residents enjoyed very much.
After their morning of baking the chefs enjoyed the Monkey Bread and coffee with their "guest bakers". They enjoyed hearing stories about them baking with their families and their moms. Great time!
