Caring for Our Employees at Christian Rest Home
We recently completed a fundraiser at Christian Rest Home to benefit one of our dietary aides. Sam found out in April that she had a rather large (the size of a plumb) brain tumor. She was fortunate enough to get in and have it removed right away and has been recovering at home for a few weeks now. Sam will have to be off of work for 4-6 weeks and undergo physical and speech therapy. Sam has worked at Christian Rest Home for 12 years as a dietary aide and this experience has really effected all of us. Sam is a very important part of our team and we wanted to do something for her to let her know just how much she means to us. For the fundraiser, we sold sub sandwich meals that included a cold cut sub sandwich, chips and a jumbo cookie. We asked for a minimum donation of $5 for each meal. We sold 176 sub sandwich meals and raised a total of $1053 for Sam. Several people donated money without even buying a meal and a lot of people donated more than the $5 we asked for. It was a huge success and we are so grateful for all of the participation.
