Even the Director steps in...


Some of the residents of Central Baptist Village were given a unique treat.  A guest host of our “Taste of Home” food demonstration series; our very own Culinary Services Director, Marlene Wolter.
 
With the Chef on a day off, the show must go on, so our Director graciously took over the duties.
 
In our ongoing effort to promote our Hydration program, Marlene shared a healthy summer beverage: the Summer Strawberry Fizz.
 
Our Director won rave reviews for her demonstration covering not only how to make the drink, but also the health benefits of strawberries and the importance of staying well hydrated.
 
Please enjoy the recipe below. 
 
Summer Strawberry Fizz
 
2 tablespoons superfine sugar, or Strawberry Syrup
1 tablespoon hot water
Fresh mint leaves
4 fresh strawberries, hulled & quartered
Ice, as needed
16 ounces soda water
 
Directions
In 2 glass jars, add the sugar and hot water to dissolve the sugar into each jar. Next, add some mint and 2 strawberries into each jar and muddle together. Fill the jars with ice and pour in the soda water. Shake and serve. Garnish with mint leaves if desired.
