Enhancing Revenue

During this time
of year we have a great “Holiday Promotion” that involves selling pies to
staff and residents.
I have repeatedly
heard how great this promotion is and how many people take advantage of it. One
of the reasons this is so popular is because many are unwilling to put in a
little effort and time to make their own. Here’s a sure way to increase your revenue
using this same concept…
Package
and sell premade items all year round.
Take a moment and
evaluate how much revenue you would gain if you sold not only homemade desserts; but
prepared (cooked or uncooked) pizzas, entire meals ready to pop in the oven and
bake, cut steaks for those summer BBQ’s that many of us love, whole hams at
Christmas, etc. This list goes on and on.
The point is we are
currently missing out on a HUGE opportunity to increase revenues for our
client by simply making what we have in our kitchens available to staff and residents
to take home and enjoy! The key is to
apply the appropriate mark-up on the price over the cost so that there is
always a “margin” on that new revenue as well.
Our suggested mark-up on pre-prepared, frozen/packaged items ranges
between 15% - 25%.
