An associate at Evangelical Homes of Michigan – Saline had a great idea for a resident dessert – Chinese Donuts! Residents love special desserts and who doesn’t enjoy a donut? Since the Chinese New Year was coming up, the team got together to brainstorm ideas on how to make the day special for the residents. The associate, Justin, tested recipes for the Chinese donut and came up with a perfect one, Angela Ilievski contacted a local restaurant for festive placemats and fortune cookies and other décor, and Stephanie Patton put together a delicious menu! The residents and staff enjoyed the meal, with one resident says “this is the best chicken I have ever had!” Teamwork, great food, and associate engagement all contributed to the make the meal special for our residents!
