Mango Canteloupe Agua Fresca at Sterling Heights

Summer is on it's way!

What a better way to start this hot summer than staying hydrated with some agua fresca! Spanish for fresh waters, agua frescas are fresh fruit drinks that are very popular in Mexico! It can be made with many different fruits, herbs, grains, seeds, etc. Registered Dietitians at Evangelical Homes in Sterling Heights, Dana and Dao prepared a delicious Mango Cantaloupe Agua Fresca Drink during the weekly wellness stroll. It’s a mixture of sweet mangos, super ripe cantaloupe with a hint of ginger simple syrup! Residents and staff loved and enjoyed this flavorful drink! Many residents and staff asked for more even days after! Recipes were made available for those interested. Be creative and stay hydrated.

Ingredients
5 cups Mango, fresh, peeled, diced
5 cups Cantaloupe, medium, fresh, cubed
10 cups Water
3 cups Ginger Simple Syrup

Preparation
Place all ingredients into a blender and puree until very smooth.
Portion size: 1.5 cups
