At a recent in-service, the dining services staff participated in a “Chat Breaker” that had them “Feelin’ Lucky”. Cut out shamrocks were handed out and each person was asked to write down things that make them feel lucky to be a part of the team working in dining services.
A large majority wrote that they feel lucky every day to work with our senior residents. One person even wrote “to enrich the lives of seniors every day!” Many also wrote that they feel lucky to be working with great team mates and the work friendships that they have developed. A few even wrote that they are lucky to be working in a position that fits with their passion for food or helping others.
It was interesting to read everyone’s responses and to see that many feel it is more than just a paycheck that brings them to work every day. This chat breaker session reminded the team members of the reasons why they are lucky to be a part of the team at Huron County Medical Care Facility.
