Banana Eggrolls at the King Home

Every Thursday, we hold a Chef Carol's Culinary Corner to try to broaden our residents food knowledge. On this particular day, we made Banana Eggrolls. Besides having the residents eat a banana as a dessert and in a different way, there was a resident who has not had a banana for 30 years and decided to eat the Banana Eggroll.
Banana Egg Rolls

½ peeled banana

1 Egg roll wrapper

Glass of water

Cinnamon sugar for rolling

Oil for deep frying

Chocolate Syrup

1. Moisten the edges of the eggroll wrapper with the water.
2. Roll the banana up burrito style in the wrapper and seal.
3. Deep fry in oil til golden brown.
4. Roll in cinnamon sugar while still hot.
5. Drizzle chocolate syrup over the banana eggroll or pour in a cup for dipping.
