Oakwood Common Celebrates Mother's Day
The
annual formal Mother's Day Tea was held on May 5, 2012. The atmosphere was
electric as the servers, dressed in their handmade attire, paraded through the
dining room and in synchronized fashion took a bow to an overwhelmed cheering
audience. After the ceremonial march through the dining room the staff began
serving an elaborate three course extravaganza consisting of English Breakfast
and Earl Grey teas, tea sandwiches, miniature quiche, scones with Devonshire
Cream and strawberry preserves, and an array of fresh small desserts. A rose
wrapped in a dinner napkin was placed at every resident and guests place. All
tables had a fresh floral centerpiece and Mother’s Day decorations filled the
room. The experience is equal to or better than the Ritz Carlton said many. The
Dining Services staff takes great pride in making the residents lives at Oakwood
Common memorable.
