The Luck of the Irish at Huron County Medical Care Facility



To kick this month’s A Meal in the Life promotion off, HCMCF held a food demonstration and class on the Irish food heritage. We discussed many facts about the culture and way the Irish enjoy their meals. Then we shared a cup of Irish tea with traditional Irish scones, clotted cream and lemon curd. A couple of our residents shared with us their experience in making scones. To close out our discussion we talked about the Irish foods that we would like to see on our upcoming “Luck of the Irish” meal for St. Patrick’s day. Many residents enjoyed the scones so much they requested them be put on the menu for that day!
