Refreshing and healthy St Patrick's Day hydration!

St. Patrick's Day would not be complete without enjoying a green drink! Dietitians at Evangelical Homes- Sterling Heights specially made a tea with sweet ripe honeydew melon and fresh mint for residents to taste during their favorite bingo Thursday. Many loved and complimented the refreshing subtle flavors of mint and melon mingling on their tongue!

Refreshing Honeydew Mint Green Agua Fresca
Ingredients
3 quart Water
6 each Tea Bag, Green, PC
3 cup Honeydew Melon, Fresh, Cubed
1 cup Mint, Fresh
 
Refer to HACCP Plan Form HFS# 003: Prepared Hot, Chilled for Cold Service. Bring water to a boil and remove from heat. Add the tea bags and steep for 5-10 minutes. Remove and discard tea bags. Chill tea. Combine honeydew and mint in a blender and enough chilled brewed tea to cover the ingredients so you can easily blend the mixture. Once blended, add to remaining brewed tea. Strain. Serve chilled. Prepare individual portion: 1-1/2 cups green tea, chilled, premade 1/3 cup honeydew, cubed 2 tbsp mint, fresh Portion size: 12 fl oz/ 1-1/2 cup
