Earth Day at Villa St Benedict


On April 22nd the culinary department celebrated Earth Day by opening up the greenhouse to begin planting! Executive Chef, Jeremy Derango went to a local nursery to pick out  herbs, tomato plants, pepper plants, and more to use in the kitchen. Servers with a green thumb came to work early to help with the planting process and learned about how each plant would be used in our kitchen. Chef Jeremy also partnered again this year with a local farm called The Green Earth Institute to source locally grown crops to use in dishes on our menu daily. Residents are so excited to hear about the new produce he picks up each week and always have their eye out for the green lettering on our menus to show our foods from our greenhouse and farm!
