Typically Show Time is a time to go over the menu, taste the meal of the day and answer any service questions staff may have. On Thanksgiving, we decided to do a team building exercise to change the dynamic of dining room. It wasn’t just informational, but a time to reflect, not just for being thankful for family and friends but also for their co-workers.
We gathered
in the Private Dining room, stood before a sheet of paper that not only had
their name on it but the symbol of TEAMWORK.
I explained
the purpose of the exercise is to write down something kind and/or grateful for
the people they work with.
They each moved
the paper to their left until the paper with their name came back to them. They
then got to read the comments that their co-workers wrote about them.
I received
so many positive comments about this exercise from the staff but the most
rewarding part were the smiles when they read the comments their co-workers had
written about them!
