The Western Home Community holds employee wellness fair to kick off the year

Wellness Coordinator Amanda Lynch along with other area leaders in wellness spent much of last Tuesday talking with employees about the importance of wellness and helping with their well-being.
From a cooking display done by Chef Kevin Winburn, the local Blue Zones project, information on smoking cessation, exercise, and nutrition, to chair massages and body composition, employees had the opportunity to further their new years goals to being healthy.  It was a great opportunity for folks to see what goes on in the wellness department at the Western Home and how they could better their lives.
It was a wonderful day, filled with bustle of folks coming in from both of the campuses at the Western Home, and employees felt they got a lot out of the fair and walked away with some important tools to move forward with their health journey.  It was interesting for Lynch to see individuals take such a positive approach to this fair, she will continue to advocate for these types of activities for employees and residents alike to participate in.
Working with city leaders was also a wonderful addition and a breath of fresh air for employees to come into.  The day was perfect and Lynch looks forward to being able to have another fair very soon for those who could not make it.
