September is whole grain month! At Brecon Village in Saline, MI we are spotlighting Simple vs. Complex Carbohydrates as a second session of Dining with Diabetes. The kickoff to this is building a creative display to bring awareness to the different types of carbohydrates.
Chef Janet and her team have done an excellent job creating a menu around whole grains. Menu items include wheat berries, quinoa, brown rice, etc., etc. In fact, good luck finding a strong presence of simple carbohydrates on her tasty menu! The second session will be held later this month with a lunch and learn focused around a meal rich in whole grains!
