This month, instead of doing our normal cooking demo, we decided to make it interactive! To celebrate Easter coming early this year, we made bird’s nest cupcakes. Residents were set up with their own decorating supplies, chocolate cupcakes, toasted coconut and Cadbury eggs. As we told stories about our own Easter traditions and shared baking tips, we were able to fashion these adorable creations. Only, of course, after I was able to get everyone to actually put them together and not eat all the candy! I think we will start doing more cooking demos this way. The residents really enjoyed the hands on approach.
