Diversity at VSB: "Walking into Wellness"


In efforts of keeping up with the theme of National Nutrition Month and wellness, the culinary team at Villa St. Benedict organized an 8 week pedometer contest for residents and staff. Over 90 participants signed up for the competition forming 13 teams of 7.  Awards will be given out to the top resident, staff member, and overall team after the half way mark (4 weeks) and at the end of the competition, including a closing ceremony with beverages and snacks. The dining servers helped create this bulletin board tracking their steps for each week on their own personalized shoe. Staff and residents have really gotten into the competition increasing their activity levels significantly! It is recommended to take 10,000 steps/day or engage in at least 30 minutes of moderate physical activity to achieve good health.
