This
year for the annual heath fair at Smith Crossing our Dietitian, Maggie Stock,
and Hospitality Manager, Kara Superczynski, teamed up to feature
superfoods. We featured quinoa and
avocados in a southwesten red quiona salad, mixed berries tossed with honey and
balsamic vinegar, and dark chocolate nut clusters. The residents and staff enjoyed sampling the
superfoods- some which they had never tried before.
Each year at Smith Crossing,
we hold a health fair for our residents and staff. This year, our Wellness Coordinator, Phil
Blundell, offered free walkers adjustments to improve our resident’s posture. He provided helpful information about the
proper use and maintenance of canes, walkers, and rolladors. The residents were appreciative for Phil’s
assistance.
