At our latest department meeting at the Gilbert Residence, we got to know to each other just a little better. Everyone made their own personal flag. The purpose was to share a little bit about yourself with your team.
As you can see, some flags are quite filled with things and other's have significantly less. One only has a large heart and that is okay. That heart spoke volumes about that person and what they wanted the rest of the team to know about them.
It is when we step back and take a look at those around us that we begin to actually see ourselves. To understand that we are not alone, that we are not the only ones who care. It is when you are able to see the team as a team and not a group of individuals that never connect, that the real magic of teamwork begins to show. Diversity is a beautiful thing.
