Safety Minute: Knife Safety at Felician Sisters (IL)
On March 12, 2012 at Felician Sisters (IL), Chef Jeremy instructed the hourly staff on how to safely & properly use a knife. Chef Jeremy discussed how to safely hold and walk with the knife as well as the right knife for the right job. He also discussed the fundamentals of knife cutting and finished with demonstrating and practicing on an apple. The employees found this training very interesting and helpful.
Chef Jeremy also included how to properly set up, break down and clean the meat slicer. This was especially beneficial after an employee had a minor slicer injury.
