This summer, King Home organized and hosted a wellness fair
for the residents and staff to emphasize the importance of nutrition and
fitness in promoting a healthy “disease free” living and physical and emotional
wellbeing. Residents from King Home and Ten-twenty Grove had the chance to enjoy
a quick neck and shoulder massage by the physical therapist, get their blood
pressures checked, and benefit from exercise tips from the fitness instructor.
Residents had their weights and Body mass index taken by our MSL dietitian,
Denise Al Rahawi, and educational handouts were given as well as healthy snacks
such as yogurt, high fiber granola bars, and fruits in addition to having a
hydration station. Resident were very delighted to attend this health fair and
everybody left with their numbers in their hands (BMI and blood pressure) and
the determination and tools to eat healthy!
