Every
year at Oakwood Common the residents are honored for an entire week. There are
many activities being conducted consistent with the theme selected. This year’s
theme was the “Roaring Twenties”. The week is culminated by a formal dinner
celebration held in the banquet room. The menu was selected after our culinary
staff researched 1920's popular foods. The menu selected for this
year’s event included a relish plate, bourbon glazed sliced beef tenderloin with
fried potatoes, carrots, and roasted celery, a cloverleaf roll, and was finished
off with an incredible black bottom custard pie. The dinner was talked about for
days and meetings have been scheduled to discuss next year’s resident
appreciation week.
