National Nutrition Month at The Moorings
This month at The Moorings, dietitcian Kyoung Oh and Healthcare dining room manager Renee Tripp led the charge in promoting National Nutrition Month amongst our employees. Our theme was "taste your way to wellness."
A wide variety of nutrition information was provided in our employee cafeteria on bulletin boards and via handouts that employees could take with them. Featured topics included whole grains, healthy fats, becoming a flexetarian, and staying well hydrated.
Each Tuesday in March Chef Brian Kozlow and Sous Chef Silas Pinto prepared "Sweet Innocence" guilt-free desserts promoting great tasting yet low in sugar and fat items. On the 19th Kyoung and Renee shared samples of our Sweet Innocence White Chocolate-Oreo Mousse with the employees. The employees were shocked by how good something so low in calories and fat could taste!
