In celebration of Older American’s Month, we held a
dinner party and honored our residents at Three Crowns Park who are in their
90’s. The meal that was served featured a meal that was served to President
Calvin Coolidge in 1924 at the Waldorf Astoria. Younger pictures of the
residents were displayed and residents had to guess who each one was. There was
also a selection of teapots belonging to a resident at each table representing
the era of "family dinners" in a more slow paced
environment.
Canape of Anchovies (French Bread topped with Anchovies), Waldorf Salad, Potatoes a la Hollandaise (Slices of potato cooked in white stock, butter, lemon juice and seasoned with cayenne), Sauteed Asparagus, Lamb Chop with a bacon mushroom demi-glaze sauce, Breast of Chicken a la Rose (Chicken Breast topped with garlic, butter, honey, almond, and rose petal sauce), and Venetian Ice Cream (Gelato).
The residents raved about the food and loved the menu
selections.
