Own Your Business Tip of the Week: Revenue from Scott Kern

Revenue – Payroll!

Have you considered converting your community to Morrison Payroll? Converting payroll is something that is often dismissed in our communities for various reasons;

ü  Fringe rates may seem too high,
ü  We think our clients fear losing control of the employees,
ü  Would Morrison managing the hourly staff change the culture of the community?

These excuses, if truly examined, are often just not true and unjustified. Our goal in managing payroll is to be as seamless as possible. We still manage the team with clients’ best interests in mind.

There are a couple forms of payroll conversions –
Full Hourly Payroll Conversion
Partial-Hourly Payroll Conversion

I would like to discuss at this time, positive reasons for you to consider converting individual positions rather than full payroll. This is often times much easier and begins to show value that leads to an eventual full conversion.  Think about this – are there one or two positions that can be converted to Morrison? – Sous chefs, supervisors, and even cooks.

What is the benefit?
 We are always looking to build and develop people into great managers. This is regardless of whose payroll they are on, right? Associates that are on Morrison payroll system benefit from additional training and development, and the ability to advance their career much faster than if they remain on the client payroll. This, in turn, gives the client a more engaged, better trained manager.  Also, consider how much time it takes to recruit, interview, and hire once the associate is promoted? This would now fall on the responsibility of Morrison instead of our clients’ HR department.

Bottom line, it’s a win-win.
Next time you look at your department, consider what positions you can convert. This will increase your overall revenue, overall ability to train and develop, as well as take some work off your client’s hands!
