Here at Central Baptist Village, we try to bring a little Chicago summer tradition home to our residents. This was our second annual Taste of Chicago at CBV and it was a huge hit. We invited two visiting guest chefs, Sous Chef Monika Tooth from Smith Crossing and Executive Chef Jason Kovanda from Wesley Willows along with our very own vast array of Culinary Talent.
The menu included Smoked Salmon Canapés (Executive Chef Jason Kovanda, Wesley Willows)
Mini Shredded Pork Tostadas (Assistant Director Nicole Randa)
Mini Beef Braciole (Executive Chef Davis Knight)
Thai Chicken Lettuce Wraps (Chef David Yunker)
African Beef Stew & Jollaf Rice (Chef TJ Balogun)
Prosciutto and Gorgonzola wrapped Fig (Chef Dennis Tertell)
Poached Pears (Chef Rob Snow)
Mini Keylime Pie (Sous Chef Monica Tooth, Smith Crossing)
Mini Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake and Mini Mandarin Orange and Pineapple Cake (Terri O’Reilly, Nutrition Care Manager)
We also had an ice cream truck and balloon animals. Our residents, staff and visitors were all raving about the delicious food that everyone made and how much fun they all had. Looking forward to the Taste 2015.
