Breast Cancer Awareness Day at Smith Village

This past October, Smith Village and Angels at Home Health hosted their 5th annual Breast Cancer Awareness Walk and dedication ceremony for all residents and staff to participate in. The walk was held after a brief dedication ceremony and balloon launch in honor of those who have fought the battle with breast cancer. Employees were able to wear a Breast Cancer Support T-shirt to work after making a donation to the Susan G Komen Foundation, and all employees and residents were encouraged to wear pink shirts that day to support the cause. The dining service employees also created a table complete with breast cancer pamphlets and informational materials, pink lemonade, pink ribbon ties for employees and residents to pin to their shirts, and pink ribbon breast cancer awareness cookies that were out for all to enjoy throughout the day.  Over $300 was raised for the Susan G Koman Passionately Pink for the Cure Foundation. It was a great event and a great way to come together and raise money for such an important cause.
