HeaTEAing things up !
During the cold winter months there’s nothing that can warm
you up on the inside swifter than a cup of hot tea. The Morrison Senior Living Team at the United
Methodist Retirement Community in Chelsea, Michigan provides a various selection
of hot tea daily for staff, guests and residents. On Jan, 20, 2015 Nicole Blair, R.D. led a
presentation on the history, variety and benefits of tea. The group sipped on a peach momotaro artisan
blooming tea. Blooming teas flower as
they steep and have a beautiful presentation.
Tea contains tannins, trace vitamins, minerals and polyphenols (an
antioxidant). “Goody bags” were provided
containing packets of organic jasmine green tea, organic vanilla rooibos tea, and
organic black tea and blueberry scones.
In addition, everyone was able to sample chocolate infused with tea, a
sophisticated flavor. It was a TEAmendous
