Sleep Awareness Week was the week of March 2-6. During this week the Nutrition and Wellness Team put together several presentations and activities to heighten awareness of best sleep practices for residents, family members, and staff. One presentation was put on by Wellness Coordinator, Nicci LaDue, which taught our residents the what guided mediation is and its benefits. She will also facilitate this presentation at the end of the month for staff members.
Wrapping up the week, the RDs put on a High Tea for residents and staff. The RDs created a non-traditional menu utilizing the Taste of America's NNM theme for the tea sandwiches - they were a hit! We featured organic, locally grown, hot tea. Residents and their family members were engaged in conversation regarding how certain foods can have an impact on your sleep. One resident lived in England and was able to share her high tea experiences with the group.
