Green Earth Open House


On May 3rd Katie Kunkel and Jeremy DeRango were asked by the local farm Green Earth Institute for the second season to do a presentation and live cooking demo.  Katie's topic was about eating raw and the benefits with a live cooking demo to make cheesy kale chips.  Jeremy DeRango did his presentation on vegetable cooking techniques with a live demo of properly cooking green beans and making toasted garlic and lemon haricot verts.  

The open house is held every year with different vendors and guest speakers. In attendance were around 1200 people including some of Villa St Benedict's residents who were able to come and see their farm.  The farm has allowed us to give local, organic, sustainable produce to our residents and we where honored to be guest speakers.  

The residents are already looking forward to the produce the farm will be providing us for the season.
