Presbyterian Homes' Food Fight Cook Off

On the 4th of May we had our Presbyterian Homes' chef cook off to identify the chef who will be competing in the Kraft food fight competition for Morrison Community Living.

The chefs were given 45 minutes to create one dish using a mystery basket. The basket included:
Skirt Steak
Poblano Peppers
Tomatillos
Purple Potatoes

Chef Kyle Bulfer of Westminster Place
Pan seared skirt steak with poblano-purple potato napoleon, tomatillo sauce and fried tortillas

Chef Kevin Chlada of The Moorings
Grilled skirt steak, poblano-tomatillo foam, purple potatoes allumette, and pickled carrot

Chef Silas Pinto of The Moorings
Grilled skirt steak, beef jus, chimichurri sauce, pickled tomatillo and fried purple potato stack

Chef Robert MacClure of Lake Forest Place
Ancho rubbed skirt steak, tomatillo and poblano jam, sweet potato puree with purple potato and cheese napoleon

The dishes were judged on presentation, taste, and skill. All dishes had great flavor and showed individual technique. The competition came down to tasting over and over to make a decision.

There could only be one winner! Congratulations to Chef Robert MacClure of Lake Forest Place.
