HCMCF DINING SERVICES CELEBRATES THEIR ACOMPLISHMENTS

At the beginning of 2016, Gina Knoblock, RD, DDS and Andra Shier, ADDS set goals for their staff to work towards throughout the year.

1.      Safety Goal – 90 days with no accidents
2.      Resident Satisfaction – Receive an 80% or higher review during the resident survey
3.      Deficiency Free State Survey
4.      Green Eco-Sure Survey
5.      Employee Engagement – 100% participation in Stay Conversations, meetings, improved team morale
Each month during the in-service training the goals were reviewed. Reports of progress, areas of improvement and words of encouragement were reviewed in order to keep everyone focused on achieving the goals as a team.

In May, the safety goal was reached and the resident satisfaction resulted in a score 87%. A pizza party was held during the monthly in-service and a new safety goal was re- set for 180 days.

The staff have made great improvements in meeting attendance and participation and many stay conversations have been conducted. Employee engagement efforts will continue through the rest of the year.

During the summer extra focus was put on reaching the Eco-Sure and State survey goals. The staff worked hard every day keeping an eye on perfect labeling and dating of foods, watching for outdated items and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen. All the hard work paid off in July and August with a deficiency free survey by the state and a green Eco-Sure rating of 99.6%!
It was time to celebrate and reward the team for all their hard work. Gordon Food Service and the Administrator, Keith Miller also wanted reward the great team effort. Gordon’s provided a wonderful meal with French Dip sandwiches, fresh made waffle chips, pretzel cheese rolls, a delicious 4 cheese pasta salad and pumpkin muffins. Homemade cookies were also prepared by Andra at the special request of the staff. Keith provided a $25 gift card for a drawing. Gina and Andra were also able to purchase aprons with the facility’s new logo for each member of the team. Keep up the good job and great teamwork!!
