We were pleased to host
a 'Waste Not, Wag-A-Lot' event here at our community. We held a few different
events for the staff and residents. To start, we had therapy dogs come in to
visit the residents. While they were here, we hosted a display cooking session
preparing homemade dog treats! Our taste panel, Buck and Bentley (a pointer mix
and golden retriever), both approved of the final product. During the event, we
discussed the benefits of re-purposing food that are safe to eat for our
4-legged companions and encouraged all in attendance to think about minimizing
food waste. To conclude, we hosted a 'Yappy Hour' that included 'pup'cakes,
kibbles 'n bits chex mix and the 'hydrant' mocktail (sparkling cranberry
limonade)!
