Wellness Demo at Smith Village

 
Each month at Smith Village, our executive chef teams up with our dieticians and wellness coordinator to present a wellness demo for our residents and staff. This month Chef Dave made guacamole with freshly baked pita chips and paired it with a thirst quenching blueberry smoothie, made with silk milk and low fat yogurt. Our dining room manager, Alissa Dougherty MS RD LDN, spoke about the health benefits about avocados and the antioxidant power of blueberries. The demo was a refreshing treat for all on a hot summer’s day!

Blueberry Smoothie

½ cup Silk milk
1 cup fresh blueberries
6 ounces low fat- vanilla yogurt
1 ½ teaspoons honey
 
Blend all ingredients in a blender until smooth, and enjoy!
