On Wednesday the 26th
we had a campfire in our dining room?????? Let me explain.
Our
Activities Director for Four Seasons, came to me one day last month and asked
if we could do something in the dining room to resemble a camp fire. She
wanted to have an afternoon of telling campfire stories and eating s'mores. So
I told her that I would build her a campfire in the dining room. I got real sticks and rocks and I made the fire by
inverting a stock pot.
Next, I sat a butane burner that we use for action stations on top of the
stock pot. Finally, I went around the bottom of the stock pot with the
rocks to simulate the pit, and the I built up sticks around the pot to give the
effect of an actual fire. We kept our fire extinguisher close though.
It was a great success, we even had the Administrator of our account
making s'mores with us.
