Teamwork at Smith Village

 

This September, Smith Village worked with the dining service employees on the meaning of teamwork and how each individual has something valuable to offer to the group. We discussed how we can work as a team to help each other throughout the department from cooks, to servers, to utility aides. At the end of the discussion we had each employee draw a name from a hat and write a positive comment about their co-worker on the card that was distributed. We then collected all the cards and compiled them on a team board, where everyone was invited to see the great positive comments their co-workers had to share about the value they bring to the group. Everyone was so excited to see what was written about themselves and their teammates. The activity really strengthened our team and unified us as a group throughout the department.
