Detroit TIGERS HOME OPENER
To accompany the excitement of the day, we decorated the dining room with a HUGE Detroit Banner, orange table cloths, flatware wrapped in blue napkins with orange ties, and Detroit Tiger Pennant centerpieces. The "ball park" meal featured a coney dog, coleslaw, corn on the cob and root "BEER" floats in authentic Tiger cups.

Hitting a Homerun
On April 6, Diane Collins, R.D. along with life enrichment
staff and residents at Towsley Village in Chelsea MI celebrated Detroit Tigers
opening day with a hit! The festivities
began by the Fans singing “Take Me Out to the Ballgame”. A seventh inning stretch snack of popcorn and
Detroit Boston coolers were served.
Diane explained the history of Mr. Vernor’s invention of the soda on
Boston Street in Detroit. She discussed
Morrison’s sustainability initiatives and the importance of supporting local
produces, thus making Vernors the soda for the treat. Diane also tagged all the bases of hydration
by explaining the importance of adequate fluids especially during the warmer
months. Time was spent enjoying Tiger
trivia and showing clips of Abbot and Costello “Who’s on first” videos. The residents were enthusiastic in
celebrating and the Tigers won the game against the Minnesota twins 4-0. The next time you’re watching a Tiger game,
enjoy a Detroit Boston Cooler!
Detroit Boston Coolers

¾ cup Vernors ginger soda
Put ice cream in a soda glass, pour in soda, add straw and
