Baking Club at Bay Medical


At today's bake club, dietitian Scott Nelson held a wellness talk about berries while CDM Heather Gillespie prepared the dessert with the residents. In the crowd of those who attended was a resident who made his living as a baker and had owned his own bakery, he is always ready to share his knowledge. The recipe for the berry crisp is:

1 1/2 cup blackberries
1 1/2 cup raspberries
1 1/2 cup blueberries
4 Tbsp white sugar
2 c. all purpose flour
2 cups rolled oats
1 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
1 1/2 cups butter
